  • Heterotopic pregnancy

Posted by Unknown Member on December 10, 2020 at 4:12 pm

Saw my first heterotopic pregnancy, path confirmed, after doing rads for over 20 years.
Presented with ruptured right ectopic and extensive hemoperitoneum on CT.
IUP went on to spontaneously abort in less than 24 hours.

    Anyone else seen this?

I have seen it once in 13 years. Caught at about 10 wks and the IUP survived.

It may be more common with all the IVF going on.

Assisted pregnancy? The rates are as high as 1/3900 according to this paper with IVF. [link]https://tinyurl.com/yxwpor93[/link]
