  • Help Comparing 3 Private Practice Groups in Columbus, Ohio

Posted by nawasra1970 on April 10, 2023 at 1:25 pm

I was hoping someone could help me compare the 3 private practice groups in Columbus, OH – Radiology, Inc, Columbus Radiology, and Riverside Radiology

Would love info on salary, time off, and RVUs. And any pros/cons of each.

Feel free to PM me if easier and do not want to post on here.

    Thank you so much!

No traditional private practices in CBus. Think Delaware is the closest….The groups you mentioned are all private equity so you will forever be an employee and never a partner.  It’s my understanding that PE gives different deals to different rads so you might as well just interview with all 3 groups and see what you get

Thank you for everyone who sent me a message. The information is very helpful. I wish more groups were transparent with their set up, especially regarding RVUs/pay/time off. It can be difficult navigating when making big life decisions especially whether or not to move to different cities.

Also I heard that Radiology, Inc at Mt. Carmel is not private equity? Can anyone confirm this?

CBUS market sounds like a steaming pile of dog excrement. And it aint exactly the jewel of the midwest. If you have to live near Cbus maybe just get a house in the burbs with the closest proximity to the nearest rural group.

The Rad Inc being PE info may be incorrect. The other 2 are very, very much PE pwned. There is a smaller independent PP group in Granville/Newark who I believe are also looking to hire.

Granvillle/Newark was the group I was attempting to refer to when I mistakenly listed Delaware

Yeah PP rad market destroyed due to presence of a few mega-groups…I’m from the east coast but have spent time in CBus/OH.  These groups can stay afloat as many mid-westerners are not the moving type.  CBus is a solid place to live and raise a family but certainly no jewel to justify working for a discount for PE.

I am a partner at Radiology, Inc. Just to clarify, we are NOT private equity affiliated.  We are a progressive, independent private practice which values clinical excellence and work/life balance. As a plug, we are always looking for good people who want to be in Columbus. Would also add that though Columbus is not perfect, it is an amazing place to live and/or raise a family. PM me if you have any questions.

Agree with your sentiments.  A lot of this is related to the fact that radiologists don’t know the right questions to ask (I now know that I did not).  Key info being compensation/wRVU

If you have to live in Cbus, may look into Wexner.  Salaries are listed online since all are state employees.  Solid state retirement benefits if I recall correctly.
