Happy New Year to all!
Posted by vascular28_304 on December 30, 2016 at 10:37 amHappy New Year everyone!
I hope it is better for everyone, of all political beliefs.
Here is one thing we can all agree on…. There’s no such thing as a bad cat video…
This is good for a laugh. I hope it makes you all smile. Turn your sound up.

Good riddance 2016! Nothing but misery & bad news. But I think we haven’t seen nothin’ yet.
Happy New Year, but low expectations for good things to come.-

2016 has totally sucked for a whole lot of people, celebrity deaths, my own family death’s, and several people I work with getting grave dx’s. I’m not one to with away time, but I want this farking year to end.
But, I’m with Frumi…if we get through 2017 without getting into a war with a nuclear capable country, I’ll call it a win.
That said, Happy New Year everyone!!!!!! Though, if hx is any indictor, I’ll be sleeping by 11pm on the 31st….-

I think ‘celebrity deaths’ is very very low on my list of things that I could hold against this year.

I can’t recall a New Year’s eve where I have felt this hopeless.-
Farewell 2016 and all of your issues. I’m looking forward to prosperity in 2017 and better healthcare to all.

Jeez what a bunch of pansy snowflake liberals on this thread. Get a grip

final 2016 victim–Mariah Carey–it was bad but some may say she was lucky that Rihanna was not in the audience–I remember the camera showing RiRi laughing during Britney Spears performance malfunction.

in my life. Embarrassing post.-
Watch the Mariah Carey New Years Eve performance. That was hopeless.

Mariah Carey and Don Lemon knocked Trump off twitter on 12/31/16-1/1/17
Don’s earring–the guy got a fleur de lis-ear piercing—priceless
he and Brooke were pretty awesome New Year’s eve/day–they balance between Cooper and Kathie -

Reality has always been difficult for them, IR.
That’s the whole point of all my posts on this board.
Live in the real world and stop fighting reality. That’s essentially our mantra.
By doing so, and accepting the realities of life as they are, we can do our best in promoting healthy living in mind and body, freedom and prosperity.-
If you really wanted to accept reality, you wouldn’t have signed back up with a new name after getting booted.

Amanda Gorman released an amazing end-of-year poem, [link=https://www.instagram.com/p/CYEpCgxBTAf/]along with a video of her reading it[/link].
,,,
We heed this old spirit,
In a new day’s lyric,
In our hearts, we hear it:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne.
Be bold, sang Time this year,
Be bold, sang Time,
For when you honor yesterday,
Tomorrow ye will find.
Know what we’ve fought
Need not be forgot nor for none.
It defines us, binds us as one,
Come over, join this day just begun.
For wherever we come together,
We will forever overcome.

Id like to share a story of coming together to perhaps give us hope about how to overcome.
A good friend who is Buddhist and gay made the decision recently to move from his long time home L.A. to Alabama. He grew up there but has no remaining family. Recently got off the phone with him. He absolutely loves it. He has already found a welcoming community. He plans to ring in the new year with his new friends. Its what we all need to do wherever we are. -
I got $20 says he lives within 20 minutes of campus at UAB

I dont know the answer. I will ask. I understand your cynicism. To me its a good sign. Plenty of bad signs too. Im choosing not to dwell on those after reading Amandas words. I guess that makes me naive and Pollyanna
-
The recent réponses in the political lounge remind me of this book by a physician colleague:
Full Catastrophe Living: Using the Wisdom of Your Body and Mind to Face Stress, Pain, and Illness
By Jon Kabat-Zinn
The title is really enough. So much negativity.
