  • Favorite lead glasses?

Posted by Radscatter on May 7, 2023 at 12:21 pm

I need a new pair of lead glasses. My old pair that I had for nearly 10 years recently bit the dust. Most important features for me is minimal fogging and comfort. I’d rather not look like a mountaineer from the 1970s.

Does the fog-free coatings that the companies advertise actually work?

    thanks

I really like the Rudy Project Contender series enough that I have two pairs. They are lightweight, side-shielded, and have soft/malleable nose support. The fit prevents fog and also protects you from splashes and spray.

I think the coatings are helpful but probably wear out over time.

I have the Phillips Q200. The fit is nice. They’re not hideous. The anti-fog is admittedly mediocre (I still put tape over my nose bridge because I’m type A and can’t tolerate any fog at all).
