  • Does hyperpolarized xenon imaging have future in MRI?

Posted by davidmdobson_591 on June 8, 2023 at 1:29 pm

    Hi,

At ISMRM I saw that Philips new machine, the MR 7700, has combined with Xenoview to advance hyperpolarized xenon 129 MRI.
    Has anyone experienced using?
    As good as it seemed?

Any views on the tech welcome please.

It has a very long past without clinical take up so no, probably not. There are newer ways of looking at ventilation with CT, MRI and CXR in development or early clinical use that do not require inhalant. (chest radiologist who has done xenon and similar imaging)

      Thanks Turfwar.
I understood had only been used in research previously.
How did you find the quality of the images as they seemed a significant improvement?
