Does CT AP for hematurua include the penis?
Posted by yao.bw39_792 on November 13, 2020 at 2:13 pmOddly enough this came up at work. When you are working up hematuria do your protocols include changing coverage inferiorly to include all the the penis?

No.

No even though one ancient uro just put henaturia as a default indication on every ct order from masses, to iatrogenic ivc disruptions, to Fournier rule outs so the tech just sort of guessed what they were looking for on the emr.
Luckily they retired.

Is this a joke?
Sometimes feels like that but no.
I had to discuss this at a meeting with docs and administrators.-
No.
Ultrasound can evaluate external structures better than CT without the radiation, but sometimes it gets included. I read a stone CT last week with a huge stone in the penis, ouch!-
