Diffusion Tensor Imaging
I have a few questions about DTI and would really appreciate it if someone smarter than me could answer a few questions I have:
1. When DTI is performed and multiple ROIs are reported are the FA values supposed to come with a normal range (based on the magnet and parameters used) or is there a universal range of normal?
2. Is it accurate in the setting of an MVA to reveal trauma that isn’t evident on the normal MRI?
3. I am seeing some cases with a few mild abnormalities in the FAs without anything on the GRE and it’s being called post traumatic/diffuse axonal injury. This is bogus right?
4. In the setting of a remote ischemic infarct the FA values from that region are garbage, right?
