Is there a short course somewhere that I can learn the “basics”?? I know that to be really good you need a CV fellowship, but is there a place that offers basic cardiac MRI training for common indications (ARVD, perfusion, etc??). Prefer not do anything online or from a book/journal review article. I have extensive experience with Coronary CTA but limited MRI experience and my group needs someone to read these.

The ACR learning center has a course.

I have done other courses there and they were excellent. Just a very dense 3-day review of a particular topic. It’s $$$, but I considered it money well spent.

Northwestern Univ in Chicago offers a CMR course with both didactic and hands on training.  You’ll find that actually watching the exam being performed quite helpful, as that’s the crux of the exam–a good quality exam is much easier to read, and there are subtle aspects of the acquisition you need to appreciate to read the exams well.

Plus it’s in Chicago, which is a fun place to hang.  Just go in the Summer or Fall.

It’s $3500 if you are a member and if you plug the coupon code ‘REFER500’ it knocks off another $500. In the end it’s $100/hr for a on-workststation course with live faculty roaming the room.
