I am not as concerned with birth control pills becoming available without establishing a relationship with a physician/provider but rather what kind of precedent this will set in motion as this company plans to expand and include other drugs

    [b]FDA Considers Over-the-Counter Birth Control[/b][/h1]
[link=https://www.politico.com/news/2023/05/10/fda-considers-over-the-counter-birth-control-00096057]Politico[/link]: FDA career scientists have raised red flags about the drugs safety and efficacy, even as the agency and the White House are under pressure to expand contraceptive options in a highly charged political environment around access to abortion, which has dramatically shrunk since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last year.

FDA approval would be a major step forward for the decadeslong campaign to have the U.S. join dozens of other countries where hormonal contraceptives are available without a prescription. A decision is expected sometime this summer.

The Food and Drug Administration on Thursday approved a birth control pill to be sold without a prescription for the first time in the United States, a milestone that could significantly expand access to contraception, the [link=https://www.nytimes.com/2023/07/13/health/otc-birth-control-pill.html?smtyp=cur]New York Times[/link] reports.

Most appointments for BCP up to age 30 are cursory at best. A $75 tollgate to get a script.
