Are women ready for AI to read their mammograms?
In this area of the world where you already have 2, maybe 3 readers, adding a 4th is awesome, why not add 2 AI’s. I would rather have 5 specialist looking at my studies than 1.
Now In Mexico, where the option is 1/3 chance they will actually get read, yes, AI is the Way. Have the computer find the positive results and let the radiologists spend their time on those. Actually in the US, let’s do that as well. You can turn up the sensitivity in the US to have more false positives but that will insure nothing slips by.
Implants and past cancers are not yet read by AI, but one day. -
