I havent fully read it but Data and Goliath by Bruce Schneier. Its good. It basically speaks to the ways both the governmen/NSA/FBI and Big Tech rob you of both your basic human and constitutional rights to privacy. Many examples are given. The book was written in 2015, and as the author has predicted, their data collection policies have significantly advanced. Some of the examples are quite shocking. I suspect much much worse has been done, particularly to women. The creepy factor here and potential for it is high. I suspect the violators would face jail time if anyone ever even cared about womens rights. There are many examples of this both with the government and Big Tech. This book is not written by a conspiracy theorist. It well researched and lists factual examples. I suspect if it got out what some of these entities have been up to the public would be outraged. You know, we elect these officials that are supposed to protect us, and instead use our data to further their own political career or fatten their wallets. Its nauseating. We the People have in part elected these individuals, and if theyre not doing their job to protect our rights, they need to be recalled and kicked out. They need to be held accountable for either not protecting or violating our rights.
And then theres Big Tech. A literal unstoppable freight train through your privacy rights with little to no regulationsharing and selling your photos, data, emails, texts, conversations and locationsometimes knowingly to nefarious individuals. By the way, this also includes companies such as banks, credit cards, hotel, travel and restaurant reservations, etc.. things youd think would and should be private, but are not. There have been literal attempts to significantly manipulate peoples lives here. Even day to day activities. You know who knows the best for you? YOU. Bottom linewere being pimped out.possibly left with feelings of loss and suspicion, and not making a CENT. EXPOSE, PROSECUTE AND REGULATE these PIMPS PIMPS PIMPS
