A few items
– for CTA there is no extra as the 3D is bundled
– Make sure you have documentation for the medical necessity:
a. Written request from the referrer ‘perform 3D recon for surgical planning’
b. Your own: ‘to better visualize relationship of tracture fragments’
– Don’t just thrown in a 3D with every ER C-spine ‘per protocol’. That can get expensive.
– Document whether the techs worked under your direct supervision to create the 3Ds.
